Emily at 23 months

Ahhh, where did the time go? My baby girl is no longer a baby anymore! I guess this past year I've realized Emily's a little person with her own personality. She's learning news things everyday and is as happy as can be most of the time.
I just wanted to update you on how Emily's doing with her walking. As some of you know, she was diagnosed with low muscle tone and recently got her orthotic inserts. She is doing really well getting used to wearing the inserts with her shoes. She normally wears a size 4 but I had to get her a 7.5 wide shoe to accomodate the inserts. Her confidence with walking is increasing which makes us really happy. She is now holding on to our hands to walk and cruising between chairs and furniture. Our hope is that she'll take those first independent steps by her second birthday. And I'll finally be able to write that down in her baby book!
It's funny how we take some things for granted like being able to walk. It's so simple and we do it without thinking. But we forget that we all had to learn this important skill and for some of us, it didn't come instantaneously. I'll blog more to keep you updated. Thanks for checking in!

It is true that we take a lot for granted when it come to these things but we are so happy that Emily is on her way now to being able to run and play like Isabella. Although, it's been a long wait for you guys, just enjoy this time as you help her learn and grow because the days go by too fast. We are looking forward to her 2nd Birthday as well. Thanks for the update!
